This past week we travelled to Birmingham, UK to attend the Neo’14 race. Practice went very well with Ty being seeded first in nitro buggy and 3rd in Electric buggy. During practice Ty had to stand in the 14th and 15th spots on the drivers stand which was the far right side and then because he seeded first and 3rd he had to stand all the way on the other side ( 30 feet away)in the 1st and 3rd positions for all of qualifying, this was a huge detrement, Ty said it felt like he was driving on a totally different trac and had to relearn the layout.. The first day of qualifying didn’t go our way with Ty qualifying 8th in Nitro and 3rd in electric. That night after the first 3 rounds of qualifying was over they held the dash for cash, which takes the top 13 and starts them in reverse order for a 10 minute race, Ty started 5th and took the win. On the second day of qualifying Ty started to feel comfortable in the number 1 spot and tq’d the 4th and 5th rounds of nitro qualifying and 4th round of electric coming third in the 5th round of electric. After qualifying was all said and done Ty qualified 3rd in nitro and tq’d electric, which meant he would start 2nd in the odd semi in nitro and started on pole for the electric semi. Ty went on to win his nitro semi and electric semi and because he had the fastest semi time in both classes he started on pole for both finals. Ty went on to win both the 10 min electric final and the 45 minute nitro final making it a clean sweep.
Thank you to all of Ty’s sponsors who make these successes possible, all of Ty’s worked flawlessly as usual.
Thanks,
Gord and Ty Tessmann
