On the weekend I attended the annual ‘Meakin Masters’ race that we have every year at one of our local clubs. It’s a fun event with some decent competition rocking up from around Queensland. This year I would be going for my 6th straight win in the nitro buggy class but also running 1/8th EP for the 1st time as this event with my new Tekin Gear!
It was a very successful weekend for me with some good preparation for my trip to America coming up in only a few weeks I was able to TQ and win both 1/8th Electric and nitro Classes. Both my Kyosho cars were working perfectly all weekend and I was very pleased with that!
All weekend I found the best tire to use was the Pro-Line X3 Bowtie, with the track being slightly slick and dusty the Bowtie provided the most traction for me out there and there was literally no tire wear with this tread.
My Novarossi Keep off 4 was performing brilliantly all weekend with some amazing runtime and a consistent tune it was perfect all weekend and I couldn’t have asked for a better engine package for this year, all is going great! My Tekin Gear was running faultlessly in my EP car, very impressed with the quality of the speed controllers and engines that Tekin make and I’m very happy to be a part of the team! I look forward to running my EP car further in the states!
I would like to of course firstly thank my sponsors for their continuous support—Kyosho, Pro-Line, Novarossi, A-main Hobbies, Protek RC, KO PROPO, Tekin, Bitty Design, Trackside RC, Dialed Inc and also my pitman and father Scott McBride for all his help! It was good to see all the drivers out for this event and I’d like to give a shout out to my fellow team mate Darren Perry for his awesome driving this weekend and with an unlucky issue in the final missing out on 2nd place but still managing to get 3rd!
