On Saturday February 22nd Coyote Hobbies in Victorville Ca. held Havasu Aid. I arrived at the track on Friday before the race and you could already tell the race was going to be bigger than we expected with pit spots filling up fast. When Dave Batta (owner of Coyote Hobbies) and I first started to plan this race we figured about 100 to 120, but the final count on race day was 240. So with a start time at noon we knew it was going to be a long day. Which it was, finishing at 2:30am. We had racers come from Central California, Phoenix, Lake Havasu and Kingman Arizona, along with Las Vegas Nevada. Drivers from TLR, Hobby Pro USA, Kyosho, Pro-Line, Team C, Team Associated, and more were represented at the race.

We had an original goal to raise $2,000.00, and we felt that was high. When the race was done, the tally on the funds brought in was $3,345.00.All this would not have been possible without the support of all the racer that attended and the sponsors.

So to say the event was a success is almost an understatement. I want to thank everyone for their participation and let them know each one of them had a part in our quest to keep R/C off-road racing alive in Lake Havasu.
