Drivers have been arriving all week to Surabaya and the track has had thousands of laps run, the grip is phenomenal and along with it so is tire wear. Not a word of criticism from anyone though, the surface is delivering amazing consistency and fast runs.
Friday closed out in Indonesia with a dominant performance in round one from Pro-Line Driver Kyle McBride, topping the time sheets in the first round of seeding and the only driver to do seven laps! Close behind was Tebo. Savoya and Hara (running a Kyosho MP9 this weekend). The track takes no prisoners and with the pros making mistakes over a five minute run it demonstrated the challenge that C-Netic provides for all.
Round 2 and the final chance to seed in to a fast heat, this round the track was the victor. Batlle took the win from Savoya and Kyle, all fell victim to the track though with no one able to put in a clean run.
The C-Netic team hosted an opening ceremony banquets dinner at a local restaurant on Thursday night which was enjoyed by all. The night was topped off with a press conference for the media where Robert, Tebo and Kyle were interviewed followed by a huge firework display and supercars to look over and admire.
Locally the racers couldn’t ask for much more. It’s a world class event here and with qualifying tomorrow the on track action is about to get serious.
Looking forward to a great weekend!
