This past Saturday, October 12, 2013, LRT Raceway in Evansdale, IA hosted the Final round of the 2013 Iowa Summer Series. After the best 2 of 3 rounds I was sitting 3rd but just 3 points out of first heading into the finals. The track was super high grip and it was cool out. 2 rounds of rocket round qualifying were held and I was fastest in the first round and I improved my time by 7 seconds in round 2 with a flawless run to take the valuable TQ points. With TQ points in hand, I still had a battle on my hands for the 30 minute A-main. The two other drivers I was battling for the series title qualified 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The A-main started off well but I was getting quite a bit of pressure, but 3 or 4 minutes in my Pro-Line M3 Blockades started to break in and I was able to start pulling away. The entire package worked flawless the entire race and after 30 minutes I had about 1 ½ laps on 2nd. I was able to take the 2013 Iowa Summer Series Championship in 1/8 Pro Buggy!

As the leaves are changing and this was the last outdoor race of the year for us and we look forward to hitting some indoor races for 1/8 and 1/10 until the weather gets warm again in 6 months…lol
