Three full days of beautiful weather and non-stop racing action have successfully come to an end! Capital City Raceway & RC-Life hosted the Rev It Up Weekend event in Tallahassee Florida this past weekend. Non-stop practice Friday, special guest Pro-Line Team Driver Adam Drake, the Whip It contest, and the Iron Man race were just some of the festivities that made this event a hit. The track came into its own Friday as the lanes grooved up nicely while tyre wear remained minimal. Practice Friday ran late into the morning which provided plenty of traction for the four rounds of qualifying Saturday. After qualifying, racers had an opportunity to compete in some unique games.
The Whip It contest glued all eyes to the track as each racer demonstrated the sickest whips their equipment would allow. Pro-Line Driver Eddy Cordoba earned the $100 prize after gracefully landing a double back flip wall grind off the rear left fence. The Iron Man contest was a rare challenge that kept enthusiasm high. The rules were simple: if you need the assistance of a turn marshal, you are out of the race. The last one standing wins. In a final twist, bashing was allowed for this event! The stakes were further raised with an energetic motocross-style start. You can imagine the excitement. While this race may sound brutal, no racers suffered damage to their equipment.

Racers couldn’t have asked for more action on Sunday. Triple A-mains for all electric classes. 45 minute pro nitro mains and 30 minute sportsman nitro mains provided a full day of racing for all to enjoy. The track surface was dialed and racing was intense. Lance MacDonald did a excellent job calling the race and keeping the program running smoothly. The RC Life event was a huge success with many racers and sponsors already confirming next year’s attendance. We would also like to give a huge thanks to the sponsors and teams that showed up and represented! Team Losi had an amazing weekend, Reds Racing, Alex, & the H.C.R.C.R. crew had a dominating presence and awesome pit area, Leadfinger provided support and smiles all weekend. Patrick, Andrew, and Sweeps racing did an awesome job!
Adam had this to say about the event:
“R/C Life and Capital City Raceway did a great job hosting the Rev It Up Weekend in Tallahassee FL. I made the trip and competed in 1/8th nitro buggy and truck. The tire of choice for qualifying was Pro-Line M3 Holeshots for both buggy and truck. I ended up switching to Pro-Line’s M3 Blockades for both 45 minute finals. I won the buggy final followed by Eddy Cordoba and had a three lap lead in the truggy final until I had a problem with my steering servo causing me to retire from the race.”
Eddy had this to say about the event:
“The Tallahassee track had a sandy, slick surface at the beginning of the weekend. Before qualifying started, the track seemed to groove up really nice and traction was high. For qualifying, I used M3 Holeshots. For the long mains, I used X3 Blockades.”
