A couple weeks ago I attended the ROAR region 9 race at Thornhill R/C in Austin TX. Qualifying went well and I was able to TQ all four rounds in 1/8th Nitro Buggy and went on to take the win in the 30 min main for the second consecutive year.
In the 1/8th E Buggy class I was able to TQ two of the four rounds, which would set me 2nd on the grid. In the double A-main I finished second in both which would give me a second overall.
With temps reaching 105 degrees I choose to run M2 Blockades for most of qualifying and for the main events in both 1/8th Nitro and Electric, but would set my fastest TQ time in the 1/8th nitro buggy class on M3 Hole Shots.
I also attended the Jconcepts Clash in Flowood Mississippi. I struggled a little bit in the first couple of qualifiers, but in Rd 3 of qualifying I would get the TQ in the 1/8th nitro buggy class which would set me 2nd on the grid for the 30 min A-main. In Rd 4 of qualifying I would get the TQ in the 1/8th E Buggy class which would set me 3rd on the grid for the triple A-mains.
In the 1/8th E buggy class I finished with a 2nd, 3rd, 3rd in the triple A-mains and gave me a 3rd place finish overall for 1/8th E Buggy!
In the 30 min 1/8th Nitro Buggy main, I started 2nd and would stay there until around the the 15 min mark shortly after the second pit stop where TQ and leader Tyler Jones would make a few bobbles allowing me to get by for the lead, and that was where I would finish after the 30 min main was over.
For the high bite track at Flowood I choose to run M3 Big Blox for all of qualifying and for both 1/8th Nitro and Electric mains.
