Tanner goes to Pro-Line Arizona Championship

Pro-Line driver Tanner Stees recently attended the Pro-Line Arizona Indoor Championship held at Warehouse 3. There were over 340 entries for this first annual 2-day event.

The track was nice and hard packed since it had been in for two weeks. It was well broken in and had plenty of traction from day one of the race.  My main goal going into to the race was to put both my mod 2wd buggy and mod 2wd short course in the main since I do not race too much electric.  I had only been to the track one other time and that was when they had just put the layout in so I kind of knew what tire worked from a couple weeks before.

I went into the weekend trying out M4 ION tires in both my cars, they were great in short course but my buggy had a slight sliding effect in the corners.  So I decided to stick to something that I knew worked and it was M4 Protons in the rear.  The ION tires in the front had the perfect amount of steering.  As the weekend went on I ran the same set of tires the whole weekend and my car got faster and faster each race as less rubber was on the tires.  The short course was the same way.

I ran M4 Ions in the front and rear the whole weekend and they were awesome with great traction and not sliding at all.  The Flo-Tek body was great for the big triple in the middle of the track. My truck did not get the parachute effect at all.  Overall I qualified 5th in buggy and 7th in short course which I was happy with this as I met my initial goal.  In the main I had some trouble at the beginning of both races with some other cars pushing me to the back and ended up finishing 9th in buggy and 7th in short course.

I would like to thank Pro-line for sponsoring this race and for all the great products they make to help me get to the main and make my cars fast and look good going fast.
