Pollack TQ’s Jconcepts Super Cup Rd 1

Well it was finally time for Round 1 of the Fall session of the JC Super Cup. It was scheduled to be held at Shiverville Raceway in High Springs Florida but a straight week of rain the track was beyond repair. So it was moved 3 hours South to the largest indoor track in Florida Space Coast Raceway in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

I arrived Friday for practice and begun testing 5 minute runs with different compounds of scrubs. After a couple hours Truck and Short Course were ready.

Race day
190 entries strong I knew it was going to be a battle. The best racers in florida in attendance and it was go time. SS was up first and was setting the early Tq until I got owned by a lapper and it put me 3rd overall for rd1. Short Course felt really good. Next up was truck, I had the advantage of running the last heat so I knew the pace I had to be on to make the Main and set TQ. Toned sounded and truck was really good once again on TQ pace and owned by lap traffic. So had to settle for 2 for the round.

Round 2 begin and the SC felt good, traction was high all day. Once again lapped traffic ended my run. I still put my self in the A and starting 4th on the grid. My SC was better than that so it was just time to start setting up and get ready for the A main. Truck was up next and I was ready. Tone sounded and truck was on rails. I had a great run and set overall TQ for Stock Truck.

Mains
My first main was truck. I was sitting TQ and was ready for the tone. Got off to a great start and was starting to pull away, then I got a little carless and clipped a pipe and did the slow roll over. 2nd place got by so I had some work to do to catch up. Leader and I were nose to tail with a minute to go. I knew I had to make a move to try and get the lead back but I was a little to aggressive and clipped the pipe yet again, finishing 2nd.
