Kyle Skidmore Race Report – Bigfoot

Last weekend at Mike’s Hobby Shop in Dallas started off very slow, the track had very little traction to start off with and I only had a few hours to get practice in for three cars. I struggled through practice and the first round of qualifying trying to get the right tire, foam, and sauce to get the best traction for my Associated T4.2, B4.2 and B44.2, but I found the right combination with M4 Suburbs on truck, M3 Suburbs on my B4.2 and B44.2, I think that the IONs would have been a better tire but I was not prepared enough and did not have any for the weekend.

I did get lucky and the track started to groove up and the track came to me, I ended with a third qualifier in truck, sixth in Buggy and TQ in 4wd Buggy. When it came time for the triple A mains the track was getting a dark groove and the lap times where getting faster and my tires wore out they got faster and faster! I was able to win the first main in truck and a close second to Cody Hollis in the other to mains to get second overall in truck. in buggy I was going to have to drive well and get some good luck too, the first main was good I moved up and finish forth, I knew I could do better and in the second and third mains I had very few mistakes on the ever increasing traction to pull out a win in both and a win overall in mod buggy over a very tough field of drivers!

In 4wd the first main did not go well I was racing for the lead late in the race and I broke my B44.2, the second and third mains went much better, I battled for the win in the second main only to finish in a close second place, but I still had a chance to win with two different winners in the first and second mains I needed a win and a little luck to get the win and I got it! Running the fastest laps and the fastest run of the weekend I got the race win and the winners of the first two mains had problems and dropped out, giving me the overall win in 4wd too!
