Pro-Line‘s Adam Drake completed back-to-back TQ’s of the 2013 Dirt Nitro Challenge 1/8 truck class, managing backmarker traffic the best out of the top runners, we caught up with the TLR team leader who said his car was easy to drive yet fast despite the track losing some of it’s earlier grip due to humidity and falling temperatures as the sun set. P3 man, Pro-Line’s Mike Truhe, lost his TQ chances as he crashed on the triple after the huge step up jump, in the same heat Kyle McBride was running well but a crash with a backmarker cost the Australian Ace heaps of time. 2nd placed Ryan Lutz also had issues with backmarkers, spending two laps stuck behind traffic, he attempted to force his way past but crashed on the step up jump infront of the drivers stand.
Defending double DNC Champion Ty Tessmann would end up P10 having been hit by another driver’s car. Cody King improved by 1 position after an eventful Q1 where he raced most of it with a broken wing mount, whilst in Q2 he also had traffic issues as well as a late misunderstanding with the race director as he stopped thinking he’d finished, only to have to complete his lap. With Q2 finishing towards 7:30 PM, Adam Drake is confirmed as the Top qualifier for the truck class with Q3 due to finish sometime very late!
