This past weekend, the Florida SuperCup series rolled into Ocala at NewRed Hobbies for round #2. After setting a record number of entries in round #1 last month, round #2 didn’t falter as 245 entries showed up setting a NewRed Hobbies record.
After a great showing in round #1, I hoped to keep it going using my new Pro-Line tires on my Kyosho trucks. My dad had the trucks dialed in for me and I was able to easily take TQ in both the Stock Stadium Truck and Short Course Truck classes. First up was the Short Course A-Main. I jumped out into the holeshot and took home the victory. Using for the first time the Pro-Line ION’s, my Kyosho SC-R was dialed and was able to turn the only 15 laps in the main.
Next up was the Stadium Truck A-main. I had comfortable lead from the start until the last lap when after landing a big jump, my front steering ball-cup popped off. I was able to finish the lap however I dropped down to 3rd place overall. Even though I was very disappointed about result, I am thrilled to still be sitting 1st in the series. The Pro-Line Scrubs were perfect as they provided unbelievable traction.
I am looking forward to round #3 in Sarasota, Florida next month. I would like to thank all my sponsors: Pro-Line Racing, Kyosho, Airtronics, KustomRCGraphics and Team Shiverville.
