Today started off with a walk to the track with our newly implemented tire shuttle system.
We showed up for driver sign in’s only to find a still very wet track.
Once it was clear that the track wasn’t going to dry on its own, the track crew chose to add saw dust so that we could run the one round of practice in the afternoon.
Drivers were finally able to get on the at 2pm for practice that went from wet and soupy to dry and very dusty under the baking hot sun. For this reason, we chose not to focus too much on tire testing as conditions were very unstable and drivers were needing to get in the groove.
We are looking forward to getting to business and settling on tire picks tomorrow with 3 rounds of practice.
