Every year over the Labor Day weekend in the Des Moines area is the Hobby Haven Shootout. This year had a record number of entries at 280. Drivers came from Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida. This is my local track but there is not much advantage here since club racing is on Wednesday nights. So all year the track is smooth and watered.
Over the weekend the track definitely had a black groove set it which is never seen at any club race during the year. A new layout was put in just a week before, Aerial photo by V2 Fotography’s Octocopter.
I ran Stock SCT, Stock Buggy and Stock Truck. Both T4.1 and B4.1 were equipped with Pro-Line Bulldog Bodies, Hole Shot 2.0 M4 tires and Pro-Line Closed Cell inserts. I ran the new Hole Shot 2wd Front tires and gave great consistent steering.

My Pro-Line Pro-2 SC truck was very competitive with the “Race SC Trucks”. This was only my 3rd time racing the P-L Pro-2 truck so with limited time and a general set up the Pro-2 SC truck was fast and easy to drive. It felt like I was leading the Pro-2 around the track vs forcing it. I can’t wait to get more track time and get the Pro-Line Pro-2 SC truck dialed in even more!

Another Team Pro-Line Driver, Dakota Feely also attended the Shootout taking 2nd Place in 1/8 Electric Buggy.
