Pro-Line’s Tim Clark and Daniel Adams are attending the 2012 ROAR 1:8 Off-Road Fuel Nationals this weekend being held in Oakland Mills, PA at LCRC Raceway and Hobby Shop. See what they had to say about Day 1 out at the event.
“We arrived to a brand new smooth track in the hills of Pennsylvania. The expectation is that this track would quickly develop a groove based on local racer feedback. Weather is extremely hot and humid with fans and ice chests required for survival.
Today at the Nationals is timed practice which will seed qualifying. Each class gets two rounds of 7 minutes and seeding is set by the 3 fastest consecutive laps.
1:8 Truck ran first and most Pro-Line drivers headed out on m3 Holeshots. Cody King was the first to try the Prototype VTR Blockade tires that are making their sneak peek debut out at the event.
Fast times have been laid down by Pro-Line drivers Phend, Tessmann, King, Drake, Rodriguez and Cavaleiri and the same group has also shown some good speed in 1:8 buggy. We now have to wait and see how the top 3 laps fall.
As for the track, it is much more dusty and broken up than expected at this point which is going to keep us on our toes for tire choice in tomorrow’s qualifying.”
