Round 3 of the National French Championship was held at the beautiful track of Saint Quentin. Infrastructure, organization, track, timing, everything was excellent and I congratulate them for the weekend perfect. Qualifying went well with the pole after three rounds of qualifying and an absolute best time of five minutes.
Sunday I finished in the semifinals after the second battle with the lead pack, placing me to start the finals in 5th. I started off right away taking 4th, then after about five minutes I was fighting for the 2nd place position with the leader at a 15-second gap. After 20 minutes in 2nd place, I had a three-second gap on the leader with five minutes remaining. By the end of the race, I had taken the lead by an eight-second gap, in front of 2nd place Alexandre Privat.
The overall grip of the track was great, and the tires really made the difference. The track setup required a car perfectly balanced and stable due to the altitude of the track. I ran Pro-Line’s BowFighter M2 for the semifinals and finals. Perfect week with two TQ’s and victories for the third round, making me the championship leader.
