As the first of the year rolled around there was A LOT of changes going on in the industry. New teams, new drivers, new products, and the list goes on. While there was a long list of drivers changing teams, one team in particular stood out as they brought aboard some heavy hitters for the new season, that team is Pro-Line Racing.
For 2012, Pro-Line has brought on board multi-time national and world championship winning drivers including Cody King, Adam Drake, Kyle McBride, Dakotah Phend, and many more. We sat down with team manager, Daniel Adams, to talk about the 2012 plans for Pro-Line and what they have in store!
LRC: Hi Daniel, thank you for some taking time with us today. Let’s start with 2011, was it a good year for the Pro-Line team?
Daniel: 2011 was a great year for the Pro-Line Team with the addition of another National title and a great group of drivers and customers supporting our product.
LRC: Less than one month into 2012, you guys have signed some pretty big names to the team. What brought this on for 2012?
Daniel: Going into 2012 our goal was to expand our exposure by adding drivers from different car manufactures, a big part of this was TLR allowing their drivers to sign with different tire companies exclusively for 2012. We also realized there is a ton of talent out there and we know working with them will only allow us to better our products for our team and end users.
LRC: You’ve signed on board the current IFMAR World 1/8 buggy champ, Cody King, is a World Championship this year a high priority for Pro-Line? Do you feel confident a Pro-Line driver will get it for 2012?
Daniel: A Worlds title is always important and I feel with the current team we have Pro-Line stands a very good chance this year as we have in past years. Cody and Paul are a great team and we are there to support them in defending their title.
LRC: What has been the most successful year in the past for Pro-Line in your opinion?
Daniel: Honestly I have been with Pro-Line for 6 years now and to me every year has been a success. Each year our products get more advanced and we learn as a team. I’m just happy to be part of such a great company.
LRC: Pro-Line has already released some new products for the start of the year such as the new RC8.2 Bulldog body and Holeshot 2.0 tires. Is there more new products in the works to be released soon?
Daniel: There are always new products in the pipeline and more 2012 Bulldog bodies to be released soon. We will also have some new items at this year’s Nitro Challenge so make so you drop by and check them out.
LRC: With a past full of multiple scale championships, is Pro-Line focused more on 1/10 scale or 1/8 scale for 2012?
Daniel: For 2012 our focus will be on all our product lines. Both markets are strong and we will do our best to attend as many local and National events as possible.
LRC: What is your personal favorite new Pro-Line product and why?
Daniel: Man that’s a tough one if I had to pick I would say the 2012 Bulldog bodies they just look awesome. Second would be the Holeshot 2.0 that tire is a legend.
LRC: We are all supercross fans, if you could sponsor ANY rider to win the 2012 AMA Supercross series for Pro-Line who would it be and why?
Daniel: If I had to put all my eggs in one basket I would say Ryan Villopoto he has been on it lately and has a better chance of staying on his bike.:)
LRC: Thank you again for taking some time with us today Daniel, is there anything you’d like to add?
Daniel: I would just really like to thank all the Pro-Line customers and supporters out there. As well as our Team of drivers and In house staff. They really make for a great working environment and I look forward to 2012 being a great year. See you at the Races.
