E-Revo MT Short Course Cross Over

Hey there all you Short Course and Monster Truck fans, I wanted to show you one of my latest project trucks and test mule I call the“E-Revo SC-X”.  This truck was inspired by my personal desire to have something a little different as well as question’s I get asking allot about using Short Course truck body’s on Monster Truck Chassis.

This started out as a Stock Traxxas® E-Revo from which I switched to the optional Long Travel Rocker arms that come with the truck. I then swapped out the stock 14mm hex drives for the optional 17mm Hex Drives from a Summit which I purchased as new take off’s from EBay. For those of you who don’t know, EBay a great source to pick up OEM take of parts Cheap for those custom projects!

From there I added our #1178-00 3.8 Bad Lands tires and glued them up to a set of our new #2733-03 ½” (Summit) Offset 3.8 Desperado wheels.  These new wheels have the offset you need for a wider track and help minimize rubbing on the fenders.

Next I added our #6036-00 Revo Extended Body Mount kit to get the extra height I would need to mount the Short Course body. This will give you more adjustments depending on the look you desire.

For Short Course Body’s, you can choose from several styles from our Slash and Slash 4X4, Pro-Line SC Body applications. Always be sure to determine your body post positions BEFORE your start painting. This will save allot of frustration in the end.

To finish off the look, you can keep the stock wing mount and add a flatter / non dipping high down force wing.  If you want the total Short Corse look, you can remove the E-Revo’s rear wing mount and add a take off bumper / bumper set from a Slayer which can also be found / purchased inexpensively on EBay.

For the front bumper, if you want it closer to the body, you can take a Stock Slash 2WD front bumper and trim and modify the Revo Front bumper mount to attaché it with M3 bolts and lock nuts. There is some fabrication involved in this process as it is not a direct alignment so if you don’t feel comfortable
performing the modifications, then purchasing the Stock Slayer bumpers would be the way to go.

(The E-Revo, Summit and the Slayer Share many of the same parts such as  Bulk head’s and differentials so many of the Slayer parts will interchange on these other Revo based Trucks).

The end result is a cool / custom truck which will out perform most any stock Short Course Truck’s on a Monster Sized Level!
