Today was an early day with a 5am wake up call and 6am cab ride to the track. We were anxious to see what if any track prep had occurred. To our surprise, we arrived to see a track that had basically not been touched.
Racing started with Pro-Line drivers Guillaume and Chad Bradley bumping from the 1/8’s to the 1/4’s. We then saw Bradley, JQ, Easton and Battle make it to the semis. This is were things really got exciting as Cavalieri, Easton, Savoya and Battle were all able to further race there way into the main.
During all this action, it was determined that the Revolver 2.0 in M2 was going to be our go to tire for the main.
At 4pm the horn sounded for the hour main and Savoya, Cav and Easton got off to good starts. Battle had a slower start with a flame out just before the horn which had to rattle him. For Savoya, the main came to an abrupt end in the first five minutes with a bad servo. Battle never seemed to be able to get his car smoothed out so the best result was going to have to come from Cav or Easton. Cav was in the best position closely pacing the leaders running in 4th. But it was after the 40 minute mark that he had a wheel nut failure. Then on the lap after replacing the tire his throttle stuck open ending his day. At this point it was up to Easton who ran very strong the rest of the race and finished the hour final in 5th position.
Although we came fully intending to take home the win, there are just some times when it isn’t your day. I left the track proud of team Pro-Line’s determination.
