Today was better for team Pro-Line with Cavalieri and Renaud leading the charge! Cav ran the all new Revolver 2.0 in the rear and Caliber in the front both in M2 to get a clean round 3 run. Reno ran standard M2 Revolvers all around, which proved to be very competitive. Ty had great speed with his M2 Holeshots but a couple crashes set his time back. Josh Wheeler also ran M2 Hole Shots for a great run.
We had noticed that the cloud cover had cooled the track when the time came to start settling on round 4 tires. We were still confident that sticking with M2 compounds was the way to go since the tires seem to have better stability on the high bite and high speed sections.
However, 10 minutes before the top 50 heats started, rain began to fall. This sent everyone scrambling to their pits to convert to M3 as it was clear that the track would quickly turn slick. This turned out to be a good move as everyone had good speed. Ty ran M3 Hole Shots and was once again very fast only to be slowed by unfortunate crashes. Wheeler was very fast on his M3 Hole Shots only to have his carburetor seize. Reno ran M3 standard Revolvers and Ryan ran the Caliber/Revolver combo only in M3 this time and a switched to standard Revolver in the rear. Final results helped to bring the team to new heights in the semi running.
We got back to the hotel later than usual, and had a quickie dinner at the hotel and looking forward to heading back out at 7am.
Shared in a little banana and egg pancake with team Budiman at days end. Actually pretty good.
