Pro-Line at the 2010 IFMAR World Championships

It all started at the shop with the production of the Revolver 2.0. The mold had only been completed at 1pm and we were able to grab a very limited supply at 8:15pm before making the 100-mile drive to catch our midnight flight out of LAX.

After traveling 29 hours door to door, Team Pro-Line made it to Pattaya Thailand and exchanged money @ 29 baht to the dollar.

SUNDAY – We spent the first day getting ourselves acclimated, then headed to the track to check and make sure our pre-shipped race tires were there and that our pit area was arranged.

A standard taxi is 400 baht and holds 2 to 3. The open truck holds 8 like cattle and goes for the same 400. (See pic of taxi truck that we started using.) It’s a wild ride.

MONDAY – It was two rounds of practice. At first the track was fluffy with light oil treatment similar to the warm up race but not as much oil.

After round one we found the track had become very dry and abusive on tires. Sniper M3 and Revolver M3 were the tires of choice with the new tire waiting in reserve.

TUESDAY – We arrived to find that the track had been repaired with concrete in the corners and additional oil was added to the surface. There were two rounds of timed practice for seeding. The track grooved up very nicely and we found most our drivers to be on pace. The tires used were primarily Sniper M3 in Round 1 and Hole Shot M3 in Round 2 with a few Revolver M3‘s mixed in.

Stay tuned for the reveal of the new tire.
