This weekend was the 5th annual Byron On-Road Nitro Challenge http://www.byronfuels.com/pages/2009_challenge.html.

 

This is a pretty cool race on two levels. One, Byron helps promote the on-road scene here in the Midwest. Two, they pay cash if you land on the podium.

 

With a super hectic summer, I opted to only enter my GT car. My 1:8 weapon and touring car were left at home. The car was running good until the engine let go the morning of the 45-minute A main event. With a buddies backup engine in the car, I was able to finish 3rd in the A. Not bad considering the less than stellar performance of the backup engine.
