Vegas Baby!!!

Finally I got the chance to take a trip to Las Vegas without a certain race involved. So I was able to get out and see what Vegas was all about or at least try to. It was a much needed vacation for sure and something to go and do with my family and fiancée to get away for a while. Is it me or does it just seem to be a little overwhelming with all the lights, people, never ending dinging from the slot machines, clocks nowhere to be found and same for the cocktail waitresses when you need a drink? Oh and another thing that’s funny is trying to walk the strip from hotel to hotel only to realize the some to these hotels are not as close together as they seem, talk about needing the right shoes on to attempt this… lol

The first day upon our arrival we decided to take the rental car and drive out to see the one and only Hoover Dam. Wow! This was an amazing site to see and I didn’t realize that it was so close to Boulder City where that silly little race Silver State is held each year. After this we headed back to Vegas to check into our hotel at the Imperial Palace; it is definitely the hardest hotel to navigate I have ever been to. We quickly began to drink, gamble and just have fun. After the first night and a loss of $500 at the roulette table I figured I better call it a night and get back to my room before I caused more damage.

The next morning I found out I was not the only one to have an interesting night. My brother, Brian, got escorted by the Police from the 15th floor were he was found passed out in the middle of the hallway back to his room on the 5th floor and he still can’t remember how or why he was up there. I do know that he met a girl at the casino bar and they took off to the strip all night so….??  My other brother, Jeff, stayed at the roulette table all night and managed to build his stack of chips from his original $100 to $3000 by the time my dad found him at 6:00am. My dad said my brother could barely stand because he was so drunk, and as my dad walked up to the table to make him take a break my brother threw out an $800 bet on black and won!   The luck of some…. lol

One thing I realized while I was there was I‚Äôm not good at gambling! Therefore, I had to find other things to do during the days and nights to pass the time. A few things I found was the awesome huge pool parties going on during the day, the 250+ car collection within the hotel its self, shopping on the strip, and the cool shows at night. Between the Bellagio‚Äôs water shows, The Venetian‚Äôs ceiling art, Treasure Island’s pirate show and the huge frog singing Low Rider at the Wynn. Vegas has a ton of cool stuff to do other than loose all your money.¬†

A few days is all I needed to get my Sin City fix and it felt so good to get home and back to life style I’m accustomed to. So now it’s back to business as usual and time to focus back on racing as summer is heating up and so is the racing scene.
