…but can you say MINDFREAK?¬†¬†¬†

 

 

 

My Pro-Line Desert Rat body for my Slash was officially in need of replacement.¬†I painted up a new one, but I had a plan to have a bit of fun with the tattered one before I tossed it in the garbage 🙂

 

Basically, I flipped the body around 180 degrees, and cut some new mounting holes.¬†Since the Slash has front and rear bumpers, plus the front and rear wheels are identical…it looks extremely convincing.¬†¬†¬†

 

 

    

 

At the local club race, I mounted my ‘Mindfreak’ body for the first heat.¬†Our races start moto style, where we all line up wheel-to-wheel and go on the tone.¬†Well, I carefully rolled up to the start line with the truck looking like it‚Äôs going forwards.¬†Remember, in order to have the truck look like it’s going forward, I¬†needed to drive it in reverse.

 

At the tone, I took off (still driving in reverse), and successfully made it thru three turns.¬†Lucky for me, the Slash doesn’t have too much rip in reverse!¬†In the third turn, I got tangled with another car and spun around…so this is when I took off down the back straight…now driving forwards.¬† With a truck that looks like it’s going backwards, it was pretty funny.¬†The crazy thing, it was super hard to drive!¬†More than once, I totally turned left when the track went right.¬†The best part, the marshals always put the car going the correct direction.¬†
