Well, it’s another awesome 80-degree sunny day here in Florida! (sorry northerners, we don’t know what snow is here J ) and things are chugging right along. This New Year has brought a lot of new and exciting challenges all at once. I got a promotion at work, so yours truly is now a wheeler and dealer of the best power plant industrial supplies this side of the Mississippi, I switched sponsors as well moving from Xray to some new O’Donnell and X-Factory rides. So needless to say things have been pretty crazy.
On a Racing front, here in Florida we race all the time, there is no down season. We just had a Florida State Off-Road series at the infamous Lake Park track in Tampa. I’m pretty sure I put on a good display with my new rigs the ZO1B and T but some unfortunate luck in the mains took me out of contention for the wins in both classes. However, I’ll get my chances to prove myself in one of the next three weeks at the nitro state race next weekend at Millspond in Miami or the electric state race in Coral Springs the weekend after that with my X-6, or the RC Pro East race in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina the week after that. As you can see there’s no shortage of racing.
With all the working and racing I do I like to take a little time to myself and do other things that I enjoy as well. Some of which involves some adult beverages but mostly I like to take the time as a strapping young 23yr. old and make myself a better contributing member to society. So I have recently embarked on learning some other programs in the Adobe Creative Suite. Those of you that know these programs know how insanely difficult they are. However, I really enjoy messing with stuff in Photoshop and have a mild understanding of Illustrator but I want to learn how to use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and some of the others. After clicking through the programs a little bit I decided to seek help and I found it, in the “Creative Suite 4 for DUMMIES” book. So the last few weeks I have been reading and playing, reading and playing, and some things have worked, others haven’t but I am learning a ton. One of my goal’s this year is to become really familiar with this software as I think it will be highly useful in the future. Hopefully soon I’ll be a web design jedi and crankin out some of the best stuff there is but until then I’m gonna continue to play the dummy and keep reading.
Till next time, Leon McIntosh
