My name is Andrew Smolnik and I’ve been racing r/c cars on a serious level for 13 years. I am 27 years old and currently work in the product development dept for Genka Trading Corp, or better known as CEN Racing. I have been a Pro-Line team driver exclusively for over 10 years now and have really enjoyed using and promoting their great products. I began racing with my father locally in southern California in the electric off-road category. My first sponsor was Trinity and then from there I drove for Team Associated where I captured a National Championship with their TC3 on-road car.

After high school I went to college to achieve a degree in criminal justice, along with joining the Los Angeles Sheriffs academy. Both my mother and father were police officers and it seemed natural for me to join the force. After some soul searching, I decided that law enforcement was not what I truly wanted to do. My passion for the radio control industry fueled my interest to begin a career within the industry. I’ve worked for well known hobby companies including Team Associated (Reedy Modifieds dept), Thunder Tiger, and now Genka Trading Corp / Century Plastics, (CEN Racing). I even spent some brief time working in the Pro-Line Customer Service dept. During these times I have gained a lot of knowledge regarding the industry.
My father passed away a year ago and it has taken a toll on my family and me. He really enjoyed this industry and racing in general. I have dedicated my racing to him because he has taught me everything I know about maintaining the vehicles, setting the cars up and more.
